PRIVATE WORKSHOP INSTRUCTION AVAILABLE ONLINE BY MASTER ALL-MEDIA FINE ARTIST

PRESENTED THE TITLE OF MASTER-PASTELIST BY THE PASTEL SOCIETY OF AMERICA AND THE TITLE OF DF BY THE AMERICAN WATERCOLOR SOCIETY

I am now offering to all beginning artists and those already established  the opportunity to learn the fine art disciplines from the beginning stages of a painting or drawing to a finished work of art. They will be presented to you in five stages. The goal will be to develop your own technique and improve your skills using the information I discuss with you.

Unlike traditional workshops, which are given at a specific location with a large group, my lessons will be given online as private lessons with you as the only artist. This will be step by step instruction from the beginning to completion of your painting and geared to strengths and weaknesses in order to make your artwork more successful.

The five stages of your workshop will include color schemes, design, composition, painting surfaces, mediums (pastel, watercolor and oil), photography and working with Photoshop. In the first stage, we will discuss subject matter,  emotion, storytelling, and the theories of design.

The second, third, and fourth stages will include the principles and elements needed to create a successful work of art. The second stage covers texture, line, form, perspective and space. The third stage will include shape, color, value and pattern/rhythm. The fourth stage will consist of movement, unity, variety, proportion and contrast.

In the fifth stage, once you are actually ready to begin the painting process, I’ll speak to you about your technique (pastel, watercolor or oil) and how to improve it if needed. I will also inform you of all the painting surfaces available for your particular medium. I will talk about the art theories of lost and found edges, soft focus and reflective colors. Examples will be shown for your understanding. Also, I will talk to you about finishing a work of art. This is a problem that seem to trouble many artists. In other words, how to know when your painting is completed and to put your brush or pastel down. This is as important as the actual painting process.

The cost for the complete course including all stages of private instruction will be $350. You can send me a personal check to my address, which I prefer, or PayPal is also available for payment.

ADDITIONAL PRIVATE INSTRUCTION  is also available in specific areas as needed. Contact for more information.

PAINTINGS CRITIQUED BY
NATIONAL MASTER FINE ARTIST

I offer the online service of looking at images of paintings created by students, and or professional fine artists who would like to improve the look of that work, or solve a problem in creating their paintings. I will suggest how to make your work appear more pleasing and help you understand how to approach your painting method and art philosophy for work in the future. This will be done by speaking to you about technique, design, color schemes and composition when discussing how to solve a problem you may be having with a particular painting. Also, if you are at a standstill with your art and are looking for a new direction or plateau and are experiencing problems in achieving that, I can help you with that as well. I can discuss your art in general and suggest to you how to improve your paintings so they will be more pleasing to the public and more successful to you as an artist.

I am a muti-media artist in that I create paintings by using either pastel, watercolor, or oil. I also paint many different genre with both landscapes and figurative work. Please look at my art portfolios to see images of my paintings. Therefore, I would be able to speak to you about any problem you may have with knowledge on how to solve it and instruct you on how to make your painting a better piece of art.

I am a signature member of eight national art societies, some of which are the American Watercolor Society (which has awarded me with the title of Dolphin Fellow), the National Watercolor Society, the Southern Watercolor Society, and the Knickerbocker Artists - an art society consisting of only master artists. I was awarded the title of Master-Pastelist by the Pastel Society of America.  I have had articles written concerning all three media I work with in such national art magazines as the Artist’s Magazine, Watercolor Artist, the Pastel Journal, and American Artists. My paintings have also been included in art books published by North Light Books, Watson-Guptill, Rockford Publishers, and Quarto Publishers (London, England). I have won many awards in national art society shows including 29 Best in Show Awards.

Along with critiques of finished pieces, I also offer online lessons individually tailored to your specific needs. This would involve working on a painting from start to finish with the medium of your choice. Simply contact me at my email address and tell me of your intentions and the questions you would like answered. At that time, I will email you back with your fee for my service of helping you improve your painting and your art for future work. Hope to hear from you soon, and we can take the first step in making you a better artist.

"Thanks for the great insight and kind comments about my paintings.  I hadn't expected to see examples.  A picture is worth a 1000 words!!!  They really helped me rethink my paintings.  The amount of time you spent looking at my work and the thoughtfulness in your words was very evident."

COMMISSIONS - PAINTING OF PORTRAITS

Being an illustrator before becoming a fine artist, I have mastered the ability to capture the likeness of subjects paint in figurative works. Because of that, I can offer you the service of having a portrait painted of one of your loved ones - including your wife, husband, child, and even your dog. I am known on an international level as a pastel and watercolor artist, and I can offer you the choice of portraits painted with either medium. Both are as permanent as oils and last just as long. One need only to think of the work of the great masters over the last few hundred years to understand that. If you are interested, please contact me and I will send you a complete list of my prices.

"A large part of my admiration comes from your choice of subject matter. In my opinion, there are few contemporary artists who can equal your approach to the human face and figure and none that can surpass you."
